A James Bond film that has been acclaimed as the finest movie of the entire spy franchise is now available to stream without charge.
Helmed by Academy Award-winning director Sam Mendes, Skyfall has just landed on ITVX, ready for action enthusiasts to enjoy.
The 2012 blockbuster, which features Daniel Craig in the iconic 007 role, garnered exceptional acclaim upon its release.
It tracks Bond as he pursues an assassin across the streets of Istanbul in an attempt to retrieve a stolen list revealing the identities of MI6 undercover agents.
When the operation goes disastrously awry, Chief M (Dame Judi Dench) is compelled to take drastic action to protect the organisation, reports the Mirror.
Craig appears alongside Naomie Harris, whom Bond enthusiasts will recognise from other instalments in the series.
Additional prominent cast members include Oscar winner Javier Bardem, 28 Years Later star Ralph Fiennes and French actress Bérénice Marlohe.
As anticipated from this outstanding cast, Skyfall proved an immediate triumph.
It secured an impressive 92% Rotten Tomatoes rating, where reviewers gushed: “Sam Mendes brings Bond surging back with a smart, sexy, riveting action thriller that qualifies as one of the best 007 films to date.”
Furthermore, the espionage drama received five Oscar nominations, including recognition in the Best Cinematography, Best Original Score and Best Sound Mixing categories.
The thriller claimed the Oscars for Best Sound Editing and Best Original Song. The latter was presented to Adele for her chart-topping track, Skyfall.
Cinema enthusiasts were entranced by the film, with one Google reviewer enthusing: “By far the best Bond Movie I’ve ever seen especially given the amazing performances of Javier Braden.”
Another agreed: “Skyfall in my view is the best Bond film ever made. No Time To Die is good but this Bond film will always have the edge above others.”
In addition, an IMDb user expressed: “This is one of the best Bond movies I have ever seen.
“The story is superbly put together and has some interesting twists, the action is well done and contains none of the shaky cam which plagued the last film. The actors all do a great job.”
