This week, gamers are being treated to an epic boost, as five new titles arrive on consoles, including the hotly anticipated Donkey Kong Bananza on the Nintendo Switch 2.

Sony, Microsoft, Steam and Nintendo fans will all get new games to try ahead of the summer holidays, plus there’s a huge Destiny 2 expansion to look forward to.

So, if you are left searching for new things to try this month, these 5 picks may interest you.

Ready or Not

Platforms: PS5 and Xbox Series X/S
Release date: July 15

Ready or Not provides a realistic experience, recreating the tension, stress and realism of being part of a SWAT team.

This title, which is produced by VOID Interactive, tasks players with leading an American tactical unit within the Los Suenos police department (LSPD).

You’ll go head-to-head against criminals and terrorists in a bid to squash situations like robberies, mass shootings and drug busts.

A much-talked-about title, VOID Interactive previously came under fire for its use of dark scenes and moments, including one level involving a school shooting.

Ready or Not was released on Steam on December 17, 2022, and has received very positive reviews overall. Priced at £44.99 for the Standard Edition, it’s now available on Xbox and PS5.

Destiny 2 EXPANSION!

Destiny 2 is back with another action-packed expansion. Bungie’s new The Edge of Fate expansion features additional missions, improved multiplayer action and new traverse mechanics, which include turning players into a ball of energy.

The Edge of Fate expansion also lets players track a mysterious signal to a location at the edge of the solar system, where something mysterious will be uncovered that will redefine your future. Expect to pay £34.99 for Destiny 2 The Edge of Fate expansion.

Robocop: Rogue city - UNFINISHED BUSINESS

Robocop: Rogue City – Unfinished Business DLC

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC
Release Date: July 17

RoboCop: Rogue City is set in the chaotic and crime-ridden city of Detroit, as the famous cyborg police officer once again tries to restore law and order.

Unfinished Business is a brand new chapter to the original game, which launched back in 2023, serving as something of a sequel.

Building on the surprisingly excellent original, Unfinished Business features new enemies, weapons, and gameplay elements. It takes place in the sprawling OmniTower, which has been taken over by a violent criminal gang. It’s up to you to take back control and make the tower safe again.

With a price tag of £25, it’s sure to give players a blast.

Donkey Kong Bananza

Platforms: Nintendo Switch 2
Release Date: July 17

It’s finally here. After being announced back in April, Donkey Kong Bananza arrives on the Switch 2 this week.

This action-packed adventure sees the return of the famous gorilla as he smashes his way through levels in a bid to regain his golden bananas.

There are movement mechanics like rolling, punching, slapping the terrain, picking up and throwing objects and climbing.

With a price of £59, it’s cheaper than fellow first-party game Mario Kart World, and means that you should be able to enjoy the sandbox-like levels while having enormous amounts of fun.

Shadow Labyrinth

Shadow Labyrinth

Platforms: PS5, Xbox Series X/S, PC, Nintendo Switch, Switch 2.
Release Date: July 18

Shadow Labyrinth is a bizarre new game developed by Bandai Namco Studios. It’s a 2D, action performer and genre-twisting alternative take on one of the most iconic games, PAC-MAN.

The player plays as Swordsman No.8, who is awoken by a yellow orb named PUCK. Players are led through a labyrinth where they will fight monsters using different methods, all the while acquiring new abilities and items.

Shadow Labyrinth is set on a mysterious planet where relics from past wars are left as monuments of history, and the player is chosen to become the instrument of its will.

With a price tag of just £25, the anticipated continuation of the PAC-MAN Series is sure to make fans even more excited.
