Boxing Day is traditionally the biggest retail sale event of the year in the UK. In recent years, Black Friday has taken over as more retailers and brands have taken on the US’ post-Thanksgiving tradition, but there are still plenty of deals to enjoy on Boxing Day 2024.
While Black Friday is a great time to snap up a saving in the lead-up to Christmas, Boxing Day sales can offer even more lucrative opportunities. Historically, Boxing Day sales happened because retailers wanted to clear out leftover stock to make way for new products for the coming year. The good news is that most retailers are still doing that – so there are so many offers (with arguably better discounts than Black Friday) to enjoy!
And unlike black Friday, Boxing Day sales aren’t constrained to just one day, typically running through January.
Everything from fashion to electronics, furniture to beauty is expected to be discounted this year. We will be rounding up some of our favourite deals from Boxing Day so keep coming back to this page!
Boxing Day sales typically kick off on December 26, 2024 – the day after Christmas. Therefore, there are no Boxing Day-specific deals available right now.
However, if black Friday is anything to go by, retailers could commence their Boxing Day and January sales early this year in the days leading up to Christmas. Nothing is confirmed yet but it’s well worth coming back to this page for any updates.
In the lead-up to Christmas, many retailers already have discounts on their websites.
Debenhams, for example, is currently running a seasonal sale across all of its departments, with as much as 75% off.
Ninja Kitchen has launched an early pre-Christmas sale with up to £170 off kitchen appliances. You can shop the early Ninja sale here if you can’t wait until Boxing Day.
Likewise, Amazon’s website has plenty of discounts on everything from tech to beauty—though as is often the case with Amazon, prices fluctuate, so if you see a good deal, it’s worth acting fast.
Boots also has perfumes slashed by as much as 50% in its Star Gifts sale leading up to the Christmas period.
As the name suggests, most of the Boxing Day and January sales will commence on Boxing Day – December 26, 2024.
However, it’s likely many brands will start deals and offers earlier than that. This was certainly the case with the recent Black Friday sales, which saw brands including Ninja, Dyson, Amazon and Simba launching early discounts for shoppers to enjoy.
The Boxing Day sales typically last into January too, so there is even more time to shop.
Given that Boxing Day has not yet arrived, it’s hard to say for certain which retailers will be taking part in the 2024 sale event. However, if we look at years gone by, then it’s likely some of the same brands will be getting involved.
Last year some of the best deals included:

Boxing Day sales traditionally commence the day after Christmas and are a great way for retailers to get rid of old stock in order to make way for new stock. However, many of these sales now run beyond Boxing Day into January.
That means even more time to snap up savings. However, as is the case with most deals and sales, the best offers are likely to go the fastest. So, if you spot a deal you think is worthwhile then you’re best to snap it up quickly.
