This fight might be a decade overdue, but it does carry intrigue.
Wilder was once seen as the future face of the heavyweight division, capturing the WBC title in 2015 and defending it for nine straight fights before suffering back-to-back defeats to Tyson Fury in 2020 and 2021.
The “Bronze Bomber” now stands at a crossroads, going 2-2 in his last four bouts.
While he has collected knockouts against Robert Helenius and the relatively unknown Tyrell Anthony Herndon, he has struggled and lost to tougher opponents, Joseph Parker and Zhilei Zhang.
Wilder, at 40 years old, still maintains a massive 97.72 percent knockout-to-win rate, the highest in heavyweight history, but is trying to reverse the effects of age and overcome two tough defeats against higher-level opponents.
In his way is the 42-year-old Chisora, who is amid a late career surge with recent decision wins over Otto Wallin and Joe Joyce.
Despite this recent success, he has also not fared well against top contenders in the division either.
Chisora has lost four straight title fights since 2020. He’s had opportunities but fell short against Oleksandr Usyk, Joseph Parker twice and was knocked out by Fury in the 10th round in 2022.

While Chisora may have the wind, with three straight bouts going the distance, two of those three were 10-round fights. The slugger from Britain by way of Zimbabwe has also vowed that this will be his final fight.
Wilder may not be the same fighter from the late 2010s, but he has an undeniable right hand of steel, and if Chisora displays his typical flat-footed punch-for-punch style, I’m targeting some late-round magic from Wilder.
This KO price might not look any better, expect Wilder to turn back the clock and land a stoppage win.
