Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.) said Tuesday he has recommended Maine Democrat Graham Platner exit the Senate race following rape allegations by a former girlfriend.
“I have spoken with Graham Platner about the best path forward for Maine,” said Sanders, an early endorser of Platner.
“In light of these very serious allegations, I have recommended that he step aside.”
