The Bears are serious about a Super Bowl this season, and the betting markets are buying in.

Chicago’s Super Bowl odds jumped from 14/1 to 11/1 at BetMGM following Thursday’s blockbuster trade for All-Pro defensive tackle Jeffery Simmons from the Titans.

The Bears, who enter Week 8 at 5-2, now own the sixth-best price in the NFL and project an 8.33 percent implied probability to win the Lombardi Trophy.

Chicago exchanged its 2027 and 2028 first-round picks and a 2027 fourth-round selection to acquire Simmons and a 2028 fifth-round pick.

He became the first defensive tackle to command multiple first-round picks in a trade in the common draft era, dating back to 1967, according to ESPN.

Simmons’ arrival immediately addresses the Bears’ most glaring need for an interior pass-rushing presence.

The Bears rank 23rd in interior pass rush win rate this season at 13 percent, while Simmons leads all NFL defensive tackles with a 27 percent win rate.

Simmons’ 28 quarterback pressures are also the most among interior defenders, including 10 pressures and three sacks against double teams, both league-leading figures at his position, according to NFL Next Gen Stats. His 20 run stops are first at his position, too.

The former Titans captain earned his first career first-team All-Pro selection in 2025 after registering a career-high 11 sacks. He signed a three-year, $105.8 million extension with Tennessee during the offseason, keeping him under contract through 2030.

Simmons joins a Chicago defensive front featuring veteran Grady Jarrett and former Mississippi State teammate Montez Sweat, who is returning from a two-game suspension.

Betting on the NFL?

Despite the move, Chicago (+700) remains behind the 49ers (+270), Seahawks (+520), Vikings (+650) and Rams (+650) to win the NFC.

The Bears (+280) also trail Minnesota (+105) in the NFC North race, although their 11/1 Super Bowl odds are shorter than the Vikings’ 17/1 price.
