BBC Line of Duty fans urged to watch 'intense' police drama filled with 'twists and turns'

Line of Duty fans are being urged to watch one of the “best movies of all time”. Training Day is a “gritty” and “intense” police drama featuring Denzel Washington (The Equalizer) and Ethan Hawke (Sinister). It follows an LAPD officer who is assigned to work with Detective Alonzo Harris, but soon his training methods come to light.

It has been branded a “must watch”, particularly for fans of police drama and it is coming to BBC iPlayer in just a matter of days. Fans can tune in to the popular film, that was released in 2002, on Friday, September 12.

A BBC synopsis teases: “Taut urban crime drama following a rookie cop’s first day of training in an elite LAPD narcotics squad headed by a veteran policeman with an extreme approach to law enforcement. Arriving Friday 12 September.”

Despite it’s older release date, it remains a popular choice amongst viewers as they say it is a timeless “masterpiece”. Fans may also recognise Scott Glenn (The Sielnce of the Lambs) and Tom Berenger (Platoon) as well as Snoop Dogg.

With a score of 74% on Rotten Tomatoes, one viewer said: “One of the best movies of all time.”

Another penned: “Great Movie!!! Highly Recommended!!! A++.”

A third added: “All Time Classic. Phenominal performances across the board even by actors you don’t really associate consistent quality with. The dialouge is excellent in this and feel real, urban, and extremely sharp.

“It really is a testament to how in tune the writing is. The editing and pacing are masterful through this day. It’s filled with twists and turns and is truly unpredictable.”

A fourth commented: “Pretty much a flawless movie. Wow. Denzel is amazing in this. Antoine’s best movie in my opinion.”

Another echoed: “Training Day is one of the harshest and best police/crime films I’ve seen in a while. The cinematography is dry and gritty, which adds to the brutal, realistic and bad-a** tone that this flick has, without forgetting a captivating story of betrayal and distinguishing between right and wrong.”

Over on Google Reviews, one fan admitted: “Training Day is a gripping and intense crime thriller that delivers a powerful punch.”

Another wrote: “A very intense movie filled with scenes where you can’t help but be interested in.”

Training Day will be available to stream on BBC iPlayer on September 12.
