Getting rid of all the grease and grime in the kitchen may seem like an arduous task, but with the help of one cleaning influencer’s homemade solution, all worries will be a thing of the past.

Cleaning fanatic Chantel Mila, also known as @mama_mila_ on TikTok, shared a three-ingredient concoction, which she promises will rid your kitchen of grease.

Some of her followers are even calling it a “game-changer”.

Chantel wrote in the caption: “Make your kitchen sparkle. This acidic spray is amazing at cutting through tough grease and grime in your kitchen – like your splashback, stovetop, cabinets, rangehood and even your kitchen benchtops!

“Always patch test before use as the acidity in this mix may not be suitable for porous stone benchtops. Hope this was helpful lovelies.”

All you need is a spray bottle to mix up your solution.

According to Chantel, the key ingredients are one cup of warm water, half a cup of white vinegar, and one tablespoon of either lemon juice or washing up liquid.

If you want to keep the solution chemical free and natural, opt for the lemon juice.

Chantel explained in her video: “This mix is powerful at cutting through grease and grime around your kitchen. And leaves your kitchen shiny and deodorised.”

The reason this type of solution works well is down to its acidity level, with vinegar containing acetic acid which can cut through things like tough grime and limescale.

However, vinegar doesn’t work as a disinfectant on its own.

Lemon, on the other hand, also has a number of acids, such as citric acid, which cut through grease and water spots.

It also contains oils which can help surfaces remain sparkling.

However, it’s important to remember that a vinegar solution shouldn’t be used on porous-stone countertops, such as granite, limestone and marble.

Chantel’s video has been viewed over a massive 462,000 times, receiving 6,487 likes and 36 comments.

A number of followers praised Chantel for her ingenious solution.

@basnsnsn wrote: “Great tip! That spray sounds like a game-changer for tough grease!”

Another said, “This is the only cleaner I use in the kitchen and it works a treat,” while Hala commented, “I use this all the time.”
