Asda issues message to customers over ‘odd prices’ on supermarket shelves | UK | News

Asda shoppers have been sent a surprising message as the popular supermarket has revealed some “odd prices” on over 1,000 products on the shelves. The supermarket giant shared an email with the customers, asking them, “Do you see what we see”?

The new prices are a part of Asda’s Rollback programme, which was reintroduced in January this year, “to satisfy the daily and weekly needs of ordinary working people and their families who demand value whenever they shop.” Products under this category are priced at an overall discount of around 25 percent. To offer even greater value, many of these family-favourite products are 5 percent lower than competitor promotional prices.

Right now, offers available on the Asda website include ASDA Deli Platter 137g for £6.98, any 3 ASDA Skin-On Boneless Wild Salmon Fillets for £9.97, and Robinsons Double Strength Blackcurrant Fruit No Added Sugar Squash 750ml for £0.94p.

Fridge Raiders Slow Roasted Chicken Snack Bites is £0.98, while McVitie’s Jamaica Ginger Sticky Pudding Cake at £0.98, Angel Delight Soft Serve Ice Cream Butterscotch Flavour at £1.98 and Häagen-Dazs Blueberries & Cream Ice Cream Tub 460ml at £3.74.

Fairy Max Power Washing Up Liquid Antibacterial 545ml is priced at £2.74.

Meanwhile, one of the biggest supermarkets, Asda, is expanding its menus, it has been reported. The project is led by catering firm Compass, which manages the sites.

According to the officials, the work will begin this month and is expected to be completed by the end of October.

Asda said the upgrades will introduce a “new look and feel,” featuring enhancements like digital ordering screens, a table service option, and a staffed checkout.

The new menu will feature interesting dishes, including smashed avocado on toast, katsu chicken curry, topped salad bowls, wraps, and a new sharing range that includes nachos and loaded fries.
