Artbox London has vowed to display some of the art and creations from unheard voices in the community. And, from this weekend (Saturday, October 4, 2025), it opens its doors once again for an annual event.
The Islington-based art studio is a safe and freeing spot for differently abled and otherwise neurodivergent artists to come together and create – in whatever way that may feel natural to them. Each week, a plethora of diverse voices build a community, celebrate, and create; demonstrating the “energy, care, imagination and joy” that happens at the studio.
From this weekend, these voices will be heard at an exhibition which will be running for just a few days, in collaboration with Museum Studio.
The Artbox London exhibition will be held at Jean Stokes Community Centre, Carnoustie Dr in London.
The event will run from October 4 – October 13, 2025. More specific opening hours can be found on the Artbox website.
Artbox was brought to life by founder Madeline Alterman who created an art studio which acts as “a social enterprise that runs art workshops, trips, exhibitions and creates sales opportunities to support artists’ creative practice”.
Through this process, Artbox aims to “improve the wellbeing and inclusion of people with learning disabilities and autistic people” while also “increasing their visibility” in the artistic community.
Each week, around 90 artists travel to the Artbox studio in Islington to express themselves.
And selected works from this collection of artists will be available to view at London’s Jean Stokes Community Centre beginning this weekend.
