Argos can’t match huge discount on 50-inch Sony TV but you must act today

If you are thinking of investing in a new TV but missed the recent Amazon Prime Day sales, there’s an eye-catching deal from EE that’s running today you might be interested in. The UK mobile network is, for 24 hours only, offering a £130 discount on a 50-inch Sony TV.

Today, July 18, 2025, you can buy the Sony KD-50X75WL 4K Android TV for £369, a £130 saving on the £499 RRP.

That’s a much better price than Argos, where the TV is full price at £499, and even Amazon, where the screen is currently £452.

This deal is only running today, so you need to act now if you want the discount. Luckily, you don’t need to be an EE customer to get your hands on the TV, with anyone able to buy it through the official EE app.

You can download the EE app for Android here or the EE app for iPhone here.

This discount is the latest in EE’s Tech Drops that the firm runs for one day every month. Although the price lasts for 24 hours, EE says that “stock is limited and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis.”

The TV on offer is quite a tempting one, if the specs are anything to go by. The Sony telly is a 50-inch Ultra HD Smart TV with an LED screen and the below features, according to EE:

  • 4K HDR Picture with X1 Processor: Exceptional clarity, contrast and colour
  • Google TV Built-In: Instant access to Netflix, Disney+, Prime Video, YouTube, and more
  • Voice Control with Google Assistant: Hands-free control of your TV and smart home
  • X-Balanced Speaker and Dolby Audio: Room-filling, cinematic sound
  • Slim Bezel & Sleek Design: A modern finish to fit any living room

Naturally, you can watch content via the EE TV app, but this smart TV is not locked to the network in any way. It can download all the streaming apps you’d expect, from Netflix to Disney+ and beyond, and as the interface is Google TV, this will be a fine screen to watch YouTube on, too.

If this sounds like the TV for you, head to the EE app today to see if there is stock left.
