In a poll conducted by the Express yesterday, royal fans were asked whether they believed Prince William should strip his niece and nephew of their royal titles when he becomes monarch.
The Sunday Times recently reported in a piece about William’s 43rd birthday last week that there is “bemusement in royal circles” at the idea, and that roles for Archie and Lilibet are unlikely under William’s reign.
Following a report in The Guardian, it has been noted that Harry wants his children to retain their HRH titles in order to grant them the choice to potentially have royal roles in the future or lead more private lives.
The results of the poll, which ran between 6.10pm on June 26 and 5.30pm on June 27, showed that, of the 5,588 fans who participated, 5,196 shared the agreement that William should strip Archie and Lilibet of their titles.
In contrast, just 336 shared that William should leave his niece and nephew with their titles. 56 people also voted that they ‘don’t know’ what William should do.
Taking to the comment section, one fan commented: “As the little girl [Lili] was born in the USA she has no connection to the [Royal Family, and as she continues to live in the US she needs no special titles. Archie may have been born in the UK but has mostly lived in the USA again so needs no titles. These should be removed forthwith.”
Another shared that Meghan and Harry should also lose their titles, adding: “Take their titles away from all 4 Meghan and Harry and kids.”
