“Squad” Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez ripped Nicki Minaj after the rapper appeared alongside President Trump earlier this week and called herself the “president’s number one fan.”
“A formerly undocumented person turning on her own for personal gain?” AOC mocked in her Instagram story Thursday when a follower asked for her thoughts on Minaj’s budding relationship with Trump.
“Who is even a barb at this point anyway,” she added with a yawn face emoji, referring to the nickname for Minaj’s fans.
The “Super Bass” singer came to the US as an illegal immigrant from Trinidad when she was 5, growing up in Queens.
In 2018, she denounced Trump’s “zero tolerance” immigration crackdowns that separated children from their parents at the US-Mexico border.
“I can’t imagine the horror of being in a strange place and having my parents stripped away from me at the age of 5. This is so scary to me. Please stop this,” she said at the time.
She revealed Wednesday on X that she has acquired Trump’s immigration “gold card” and is on her way to obtaining US citizenship.
“Finalizing that citizenship paperwork as we speak as per my wonderful, gracious, charming President. Thanks to the petition. I wouldn’t have done it without you. . . . Gold Trump card free of charge,” she posted on X.
