In a statement posted to social media on Friday, the Los Angeles Police Department said Guillen used a slingshot to fire “hard metal objects at officers who were standing on the line” at an anti-ICE demonstration in downtown LA on Friday night.

Court filings say that in addition to assaulting two officers, Guillen also smashed an LAPD patrol car windshield during the riots, causing more than $400 in damage.

He was being held Wednesday at LA’s Inmate Reception Center on $150,000 bail. His lawyer could not be reached for comment.
