Jamie Murray, brother of tennis icon Andy, has reportedly split from his wife. Much like his younger brother, Jamie has also forged a career in professional tennis and is a five-time mixed doubles Grand Slam champion.
Jamie met former partner Alejandra Gutierrez in 2008, with the pair getting married two years later in a private ceremony at Cromlix House near his hometown of Dunblane, Stirling. The split, according to The Sun, is believed to have happened last year, with Jamie having since joined celebrity dating app Raya.
Jamie has a profile on the exclusive app, describing himself as an athlete who “travels the world playing tennis”. Speaking to the outlet, a family friend said: “It’s a really sad situation. They’re working hard to make it as amicable as possible between them at this stage. Jamie’s started to make moves towards meeting someone new by signing up to dating sites.”
And a spokesperson for Jamie added: “Jamie and Alejandra Murray divorced on August 22, 2025, having separated the previous year. As with any divorce, this is an extremely difficult time for Jamie and Alejandra and they would appreciate that their privacy is respected whilst they navigate their future and protect their family.”
Along with his five mixed doubles titles, Jamie has also won a further two men’s doubles Slams. Now 39 years old, there have been suggestions he’s close to hanging up his racket, but Jamie insists he’s still firing on all cylinders and isn’t planning to pack it in anytime soon.
Speaking in an interview with The Daily Mail, he explained: “I always had a mental block about playing past 40 but I’m just about there now with my next birthday in February and I still want to play next year for sure. So I guess I’ll be going into my forties. I’m still enjoying travelling and competing. My ranking is good enough to play the top events and you’re a long-time retired.
“I haven’t had any real injuries or surgeries or anything like that. My body still feels pretty good. I haven’t played particularly well in the last couple of years but I’m starting to get my act together now. I still think I can do well at these big events. I was struggling with my serve which is the most important shot in the game but I definitely have more confidence with it just now.”
