Amazon has slashed the price of its ‘most powerful’ Fire tablet in its Spring Deal Days sale. The Amazon Fire Max 11, usually priced at £249.99, is now available for £154.99 – its cheapest price this year, according to price tracker camelcamelcamel.

The budget-friendly device is perfect for those seeking a new tablet that allows web browsing, video and music streaming, plus much more. It boasts an 11” screen with 2.4 million pixels, ensuring every detail is visible whether you’re catching up on the latest must-watch series or gaming.

The Fire Max 11 has a slim aluminium body that’s said to be ‘as thin as a pencil’ and is crafted with strengthened glass. Amazon claims this is ‘three times as durable’ as the 10th generation iPad.

With 64GB of storage, users can load up their favourite apps, music and photos, while the 8MP front and rear cameras are ideal for video calls and 1080p HD video recording. Shoppers can also upgrade to the 128GB model for £194.99, reduced from £289.99.

Each version comes with a long-lasting battery that can run for up to 14 hours, making it ideal for use at home or on the go. An added fingerprint sensor provides an extra layer of security. The tablet provides a great budget-friendly alternative to brands like Apple and Samsung, but those in the market for a high-end tablet may want to consider Sky Mobile’s deals.

This is because the provider lets customers spread the cost of a new device, such as the £34 Samsung Galaxy Tab S10 Ultra, which comes with a free AI Book Cover Keyboard and Galaxy Buds3 worth £498 until March 31. Apple fans can choose between models like the latest iPad and iPad Air for £10.50 and £17, respectively.

Despite its cheaper overall cost, the Amazon Fire Max 11 boasts countless premium features, granting access to a plethora of books through apps like Kindle and Audible, along with the ability to control compatible smart devices using Alexa voice control.

The tablet has racked up almost 1,800 five-star reviews and has been touted as Amazon’s ‘best-ever Fire tablet’ by users. However, as one user pointed out, there is a negative – it does not have a headphone jack, something to consider if you do not own wireless headphones and want to use it on the go.

One happy customer said: “I was going to buy a Samsung tablet but decided I didn’t want to spend too much, then I saw this and thought I’d give it a go. Having never used an Amazon tablet before, I’m glad I did. It’s very responsive, the sound quality is good and the battery life is superb.

“I like the design and the intuitive way the volume keys swap position for up and down relative to how you have the tablet positioned. It feels robust and has decent memory. It is a little bit on the heavy side, but I don’t mind that as it makes it feel more sturdy. It’s very easy to use and came ready to go, straight out of the box.”

Another said: “Best Amazon Fire tablet ever. It is ultra thin but with the all metal case rather than a plastic shell [and] isn’t much heavier than my previous model. The screen is crystal clear, with ultra bright sharp detail due to the much higher resolution screen and with the newer processor and more memory it is super fast compared to my older model and it also holds its charge for so much longer.”

One shopper struggled to download apps and said: “I brought the tablet thinking I could use it instead of doing everything from my phone, but unfortunately, there aren’t many apps you can download onto it. It seems to be just mainly kids games. I was hoping to be able to download banking apps, energy provider apps eBay but nope you can’t. The tablet itself seems nice, apart from that.”

A satisfied buyer said: “After my son broke his iPad, we were on the lookout for a budget-friendly replacement without compromising on quality. The Fire Max 11 exceeded all our expectations. The performance is outstanding, it handles everything from streaming videos to running multiple apps simultaneously with ease.

“The vivid display ensures a fantastic viewing experience, whether for watching movies or playing games. Despite being a fraction of the price of an iPad, the build quality is top-notch. It feels sturdy and well-made, capable of withstanding the occasional bumps and knocks that come with everyday use. It has proven to be a reliable and capable replacement for our son’s iPad, delivering exceptional performance and quality at a fraction of the price.”

However, this reviewer pointed out a potential downside, writing: “Quality wise it’s definitely an improvement; however, the lack of headphone jack is its downfall.”
