Amazon Prime has finally added the film hailed by fans as the ‘best horror movie of 2024’ and lauded as a ‘masterclass in suspense’.
Heretic, which had been eagerly anticipated on the platform’s upcoming list for over a month, is now available for streaming at no extra charge to Prime subscribers from today (June 1).
The film created quite a buzz upon its cinema release last year, featuring the renowned British actor Hugh Grant in an unexpected role.
His stellar performance even garnered him a BAFTA nomination for Best Leading Actor.
The plot centres around two young missionaries who find themselves caught in a lethal game of cat and mouse after knocking on the door of the sinister Mr. Reed (Grant).
Trapped within his house, they must rely on their faith to escape alive.
The film was crafted by the acclaimed filmmaking duo Scott Beck and Bryan Woods, known for writing the original A Quiet Place. Their latest venture was equally well-received, boasting a 91% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, reports the Daily Record.
One verified reviewer praised it for how it ‘messes with your mind’. Fans continue to heap accolades on the film, with many declaring it as the ‘hands down, best horror movie of 2024.’
