Fancy a new smartphone but don’t want to pay flagship prices? Amazon might have exactly what you are looking for. The online retailer has just announced a deal that’s offering customers the chance to grab a Samsung Galaxy A16 and pay just £119 for the privilege. This budget blower may sound cheap, but it packs plenty of impressive features, including a huge 6.7-inch Super Amoled display and a smart design that’s available in Light Grey or Light Green and can survive getting wet during the British downpours.
It also gets a triple lens rear camera with Ultra Wide and Macro capabilities, plus there’s a 13MP front-facing snapper for those all-important selfies.
There’s a big 5,000mAh battery inside, which should easily last a day, and it can be fast charged should things run flat.
Other extras include an Octa-core processor and six years of OS upgrades.
£119 for this device is a decent deal. Some retailers, such as Currys, are selling the A16 for over £160.

There are a few things to consider before clicking the buy button. It isn’t compatible with the latest 5G data speeds – only 4G access is available via the device. Its processor won’t come close to matching the brains found in premium devices such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra.
It also only gets a pretty measly 4GB of RAM – that’s compared to 12GB in most flagships. Samsung has also stopped selling the A16, with it being replaced by the improved Galaxy A17.
Clearly, the Galaxy A16 isn’t built for power users, but those looking for a second phone or something for their kids should find it does the job and that £119 is very tempting.
