Amazon offers cheaper way to buy Samsung Galaxy phones but new deals come with a warning

Amazon has just launched its epic Spring Sale event with hundreds of products slashed in price including some surprisingly good deals on Fire TV Sticks. There are plenty of bargains to be bagged but one pair of deals that has caught our eye will please anyone who fancies a new Samsung phone in their pocket. Amazon is currently selling the popular A34 5G and A54 5G devices at vastly reduced prices with things now starting from under £230.

Both of these lower-cost call makers include Super AMOLED displays, triple-lens rear cameras, good battery life and access to speedy 5G data when away from Wi-Fi. They are also water resistant, feature expandable memory and have stereo speakers to improve that nightly boxset binge.

Sound enticing? See below for full details about the deals

GALAXY A34 5G • NOW £224 – SAVING £125
This phone gets a 6.6-inch 120Hz screen, triple-lens camera and 2-day battery life.
It does have a “glastic” build and isn’t quite as premium as the A54 5G.

These deals are clearly very good but before you dash you tap the buy button beware. Both the A34 and A54 will be superseded today by the new A35 and A55 5G. These devices are going on sale from March 20 and although they look pretty similar they do have one big advantage.

That’s all thanks to Samsung bringing its Knox Vault security features to these budget call makers for the very first time.

For those not in the know, Samsung Knox Vault offers a number of ways to keep things safe including protecting important data behind biometrics and pin codes. This means only a user who has the correct lock screen credentials can access their data, even if the device is lost or stolen.

Real-time threat detection also keeps an eye on current dangers and the addition of Samsung’s so-called Auto Blocker can block app installations from unauthorised sources. It will also scan for potential malware and block potentially malicious commands and software installations. All of this should help to make the A35 and A55 two of the most uncrackable devices on the market.

Prices for the A35 and A55 start from £339 – we’ve got full details here.
