Amazon is treating customers to a surprise sale on its own-brand devices ahead of the August bank holiday weekend. Shoppers can make big savings on home tech devices such as Firesticks, Echo Dots, and Kindles.
What’s more, shoppers can also get free delivery on Monday, August 25, on orders dispatched by Amazon. Stand-out offers include 47% off the Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K (Newest gen), as well as significant discounts on Echo Pops.
This Amazon Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Newest gen) is 47% off, now £31.99, down from £51.99. The latest edition of the popular streaming stick has Wifi 6 and allows users to play Xbox games without a console. The device also gives owners access to their favourite apps, all in one place, including Netflix, Prime Video, and Disney+.
Elsewhere, Currys has launched an ‘Epic Deals’ sales event online with savings on TVs, laptops and vacuums. There’s £300 off this Samsung Galaxy Book4 Edge, now £599, down from £899. Over at Very, shoppers can save £40 on a pair of Apple AirPods Pro (2nd Gen), originally £229; the earphones have been knocked down to £189.
Back to Amazon’s sale, there are discounts on the WiFi 6E Fire Stick, which is now £49.99, down from £69.99, and the WiFi 5 option, which is now £24.99, reduced from £39.99. Tech editor David Snelling has written a detailed overview of each device’s specs and differences.
Amazon’s Fire TV Stick 4K Max (Newest gen) has more than 21,000 customer reviews with many customers crediting its easy set-up, and ability to stream without lagging as standout features. One user wrote: “The Fire TV Stick 4K is fast, easy to use, and delivers amazing picture quality. Tons of apps, smooth performance, and the Alexa remote make searching super convenient. Great value for 4K streaming.”
Another customer suggests room for improvement, writing: “ It does what it says on the tin. Can be tethered to any TV to switch on/off or change from Amazon Prime to TV, but doesn’t let you switch to Sky box or other inputs like S-video, HDMI or SCART. The newest edition of the home assistant, Echo Dot (Newest gen) is also on sale for £34.99, was £54.99. Meanwhile, shoppers on the hunt for a new speaker can save 44% on the Echo Pop (Newest generation), now £24.99, down from £44.99.
Owners can ask Alexa anything, from compiling a shopping list, weather updates and using it to play music, audiobooks and podcasts. The Echo Pop (Latest generation) has an overall customer rating of 4.7, with buyers praising its compact size, good sound quality, and efficient voice control.
However, some people said they prefer other Amazon devices, writing: “Sound quality seems upgraded, but still not the best. I prefer the larger Amazon devices as they seem to have better specs, but for a prime deal, it was a bargain.”
Similarly, the Echo Spot 2024 has been reduced to £54.99, down from £79.99. Amazon’s Kindle Colorsoft Signature Edition (32GB) has also been reduced to £204, originally £269. It has a 7-inch screen and a tool that allows readers to highlight their favourite extracts.
