Amazon drops price of ‘powerhouse’ fan to £25 as UK heatwave hits

With temperatures climbing across the UK and homes getting noticeably stuffier, many shoppers are turning to compact cooling fans to help get through the heat. And just in time for the warmer weather, Amazon Prime Day has dropped the price of one of its most popular models.

The Honeywell TurboForce Power Fan is now available for just £24.99 in its Prime Day deals, reduced from £32.49 — a tidy saving on one of its bestselling items, which shoppers praise for its quiet operation, powerful airflow, and space-saving design.

To get the deal, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member, but a free trial will give you access to all Prime Day savings.

Designed to cool rooms quickly without taking up too much space, the HT900E features three speed settings, a 90° pivoting head, and the option to mount it on the wall or use it as a traditional table fan. It has to be plugged in so it’s suitable for bedrooms, offices, kitchens and even small conservatories, as long as there is a power supply.

Measuring 26.6 x 14.5 x 27.6cm, the fan is compact enough to fit on a desk or shelf, yet it’s been praised by users for its powerful output. One reviewer noted: “This little fan is an absolute powerhouse. I didn’t expect it to cool the room so effectively.”

Another added: “It’s really quiet, even on the highest setting. Perfect for sleeping with in the background.”

However, not everyone thought the fan was that quiet. One shopper complained: “It isn’t ‘noisy’ but it definitely isn’t quiet.”

The HT900E has earned an average rating of 4.5 out of 5 stars from almost 26,000 Amazon buyers, with the site reporting that this model has already been purchased over 5,000 times in the past month.

To get the deal, you’ll need to be an Amazon Prime member, but a free trial will give you access to all Prime Day savings.

If you need something a little smaller and cheaper, it’s worth considering this electriQ 6-Inch Oscillating Desk DC Fan from Appliances Direct. Priced at £19.99, it has eight speeds, from gentle breeze to powerful blast, and claims to be “extremely quiet” so it can be used at night. There’s also a timer button so it can shut off if you don’t want it to go on while you sleep.

However, if money is no object, at the other end of the spectrum is the Dyson Cool™ CF1 desk fan. Priced at £249.99 on the brand’s website, it’s rated 4.6 stars out of five and claims to be able to cool a room quickly thanks to its 370 litres of airflow per second. It’s also apparently very quiet, even at full power, as it has no blades, making it safe to have around children and pets. Despite being so powerful, Dyson says it’s energy efficient, using only 30 watts maximum.
