‘Amazing finale’ to ‘classic’ franchise added to Prime Video

The epic conclusion to one of the 2010s’ biggest film series has just landed on Prime Video – and fans are calling it an “amazing finale” to a “classic” franchise.

The fourth and final instalment in a hit dystopian saga is now available to stream, giving viewers the chance to revisit the dramatic end to Katniss Everdeen’s rebellion against the Capitol.

Released in 2015, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 once again stars Jennifer Lawrence as Katniss, alongside Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, and Donald Sutherland.

Directed by Francis Lawrence, it picks up immediately after the events of Mockingjay – Part 1, with Katniss recovering from her near-fatal encounter with Peeta and preparing to lead the final assault on President Snow’s regime.

As the rebellion reaches its climax, Katniss joins a deadly mission into the heart of the Capitol, navigating lethal traps, propaganda, and betrayal. The emotional core of the story culminates in two of the series’ most devastating moments.

Fans have been quick to share their reactions on Rotten Tomatoes since the film’s streaming debut, with many describing it as the perfect conclusion to the saga.

One reviewer wrote: “A great ending to the franchise. I love the concept of the Hunger Games being the war at the Capitol. It really picks up towards the end. The twists this film has are amazing.”

Another user praised its emotional depth, adding: “An amazing finale for an amazing franchise. Very emotional.”

Others called it a “beautiful ending to the series,” while one fan summed it up simply as “amazing – THE BEST EVER.”

While critics were more divided at the time of release, with a 69% rating on Rotten Tomatoes, many have since reappraised Mockingjay – Part 2 as a fitting and sombre finale.

The production, shot across Berlin and Paris, was among the most ambitious in the series, featuring large-scale sets and complex battle sequences.

At the box office, Mockingjay – Part 2 earned over $650 million worldwide, making The Hunger Games one of the decade’s defining film franchises.

It also received several award nominations, including a Critics’ Choice nod for Jennifer Lawrence and Saturn Award nominations for Best Science Fiction Film and Best Actress.

The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 2 is now available to stream on Amazon Prime Video.
