All Margot Robbie films ranked with surprising top 10 entry

Margot Robbie gave a notable performance back in 2013 when she starred in The Wolf of Wall Street and it’s safe to say her career has never quite been the same.

Audiences have watched the Australian actress go from making short but memorable cameos in films to starring as the leading role within just a few years. From comedy to biopics, and soon to be a period drama with her leading role in Wuthering Heights, the Hollywood star has had quite the career trajectory.

Thanks to the review site Rotten Tomatoes rankings, it has been decided just what films of hers come out on top, based on real-life fan reviews. It carefully calculates an overall score based on viewers’ ratings and has ranked all 20 of her movies.

What made a shocking entry in the top 10 was a 2015 sci-fi thriller Robbie starred in, titled Z for Zachariah, coming in at an unexpected number seven on the list. Its concept is based around a love triangle of three survivors after a huge natural disaster wipes out almost all of the population.

Although, most movie buffs won’t be shocked to see these films made the top rankings of the list. Unlike Terminal, the 2018 neo-noir thriller film that has a cringe-worthy low rating of just 22%, sitting right at the very bottom of the list.

1. I, Tonya (2017)

In a role that saw the dazzling Margot Robbie take on a less glamorous role, she transformed into Tonya Harding, the first American woman to complete a triple axel during a figure skating competition. The 1991 setting sees the working-class woman become a national champion and her world fall apart as her ex-husband conspires against her fellow competitors.

Her life and legacy are all at risk as her reputation becomes tarnished, thanks to her abusive ex’s actions. The film sees Robbie help clear Harding’s name from one of the sporting world’s biggest scandals.

One review, making up the 90% overall score, claims: “In my opinion this should have been Margot Robbie’s Oscar. She absolutely smashed this role out of the park, and I don’t think it gets enough credit! It’s an extremely well-delivered film made with a smaller budget than most.”

2. The Suicide Squad (2021)

As the sequel to the 2016 film Suicide Squad, which saw Margot Robbie join the DC Extended Universe as Harley Quinn, this film remains a fan favourite, with a 90% score. Far from anything she’d ever done at the time, her character is playful and comedic with a very distinctive look and once again showed just how much range she had as an actress.

A review reads: “The Suicide Squad is pure comic book mayhem, gruesome, witty, and endless fun. James Gunn takes big swings, shamelessly kills off characters, and keeps the ride unpredictable from start to finish.

“It’s over-the-top in the best way, embracing its ridiculousness while still finding moments of heart. Easily one of DC’s boldest and most entertaining films.

3. Barbie (2023)

Just when you thought Robbie was already considered Hollywood royalty, she played the iconic Barbie in what became the highest-grossing film of that year and the 14th of all time. It’s no surprise this entry made its way to the top of the ranks, as we see Margot play the bubblegum-pink, all-smiling ‘stereotypical’ Barbie, living in a dream matriarchal society known as Barbieland.

This film without a doubt changed the trajectory of Robbie’s career and the favourite films list for many movie buffs. One person wrote: “This film exceeded my expectations. It wasn’t predictable, childish or cheesy, but genuinely entertaining and a joy to watch.

“Margot Robbie shines not only as the lead actor but also as director and producer, delivering an exceptional piece of work. Hats off to her for such an impressive achievement. The film was nostalgic and very creative.”

4. Once Upon a Time… In Hollywood (2019)

Of course any Quentin Tarantino film is highly likely to be in the top half of this list, but it falls behind by a fair amount with an overall score of 86%. Robbie plays another real-life person in this film, as she stars as the iconic Sharon Tate in 1969 Los Angeles.

Alongside her, making up a star-studded ensemble cast are Leonardo DiCaprio, with whom she worked alongside in The Wolf of Wall Street, and of course Brad Pitt. The film continues to receive high praise, as one fan writes: “Outstanding characters and setting. Tarantino displays a masterclass of writing some of the best characters/dialogue.

“The movie creates an outstanding setting through visuals, characters, music and dialogue that will have you sad once the film is over. Possibly the best Tarantino film.”
