The University of New Mexico (UNM) has issued a shelter in place alert on its central campus following a deadly shooting. Police received a report of gunshots fired at a student housing centre on Friday, July 25. Officers found two people who had been shot. While one person sustained non-life-threatening injuries, the second sadly died.
The UNM warning was sent out around 6.17am local time, with officials asking people to avoid the area, as it’s closed. The suspect remains at large.
