Family members of the Air India plane crash victim are “not being allowed” to visit the hospital as they queue up to hear an update from the authorities. On Thursday, an Air India flight carrying 242 passengers crashed in Ahmedabad, India. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner flight met a tragic fate, crashing into a residential area in Meghani Nagar just minutes after departing from Ahmedabad at 1.38pm on June 12, 2025.
Poonam Patel, who arrived at the Civil Hospital in Ahmedabad Gujarat, has been waiting to meet his family member who was on the Air India Flight. He told ANI new agency: “My sister-in-law was on the plane, travelling to London. We received the news just an hour after she took off that the plane had crashed. We haven’t been allowed inside the hospital to see her yet, but we are waiting to meet her as soon as.”
Ramila’s son was in the medical hostel during lunch break when the ill-fated plane crashed into the building. He jumped from the second floor and sustained minor injuries. She told ANI: “He is currently undergoing treatment for the minor injuries.”
