Actor offers seaside town house swap over Christmas as fans hope for 'The Holiday' romance

A top actor has offered up his home over Christmas as he wants to go somewhere else for the festive period – and fans are hoping to strike up a romance similar to the one portrayed in 2006 Christmas film The Holiday.

Former Holby City star Jules Knight, 42, has taken to TikTok to offer his followers the chance to stay in his stunning home in a “seaside town in England” if they organise a swap with him.

Jules said on the clip: “It’s been a hell of a year to be honest. With my lovely mum passing away in August in the middle of a stressful house renovation, I need to get away.”

He added: “So if anyone would like to come and look after my pets and stay in my house in a seaside town in England, let me know. And in return perhaps you have a little slice of paradise that I could visit over the holiday period.  Sometimes it’s just good to get away.”

Jules, who is also known for his singing in the group Blake, has had plenty of offers – many from women who are keen to live out a Holiday-style romance.

One said: “Yes, I am very interested in swapping you for my husband. That’s what you said right?”

Another recounted a famous line in the 2006 favourite festive film that also stars Jude Law. She joked: “In Nashville, my place is a bit smaller, three cats. But I have one question. Are there any men in your town?”

And another added: “Do you have a hot brother you’ll forget to tell about the arrangement and he’ll just pop by and fall madly in love with me?”

In the festive film starring Kate Winslet and Cameron Diaz, romance blossoms after the two starring ladies swap their UK and US homes for Christmas.

Jules, who played Dr Harry Tressler in the BBC drama Holby City, often shares his renovation projects on TikTok. After renting out a property he renovated in the village of Brisley, in Norfolk, he lived in a hut with his black Labrador, Samphire and cat.

He told the Eastern Daily Press that he planned to make a return to acting. Jules said: “I’m getting an agent and going back to acting.  I’d love to be in a period drama, something like Bridgerton, I’d definitely take that. Or a gritty cop drama like Line of Duty.”
