Piers Morgan has had his say on Donald Trump after he declared a new deal with China. The President announced on Wednesday that the United States will get magnets and rare earth minerals from China under a new trade deal. He also said the US will provide China “what was agreed to”, including allowing Chinese students to attend American universities and colleges.
Tariffs on Chinese goods will rise to 55 per cent, which marks a big increase from the 30 per cent levy set in Switzerland during negotiations in May. Trump took to social media to announce the news, typing, “OUR DEAL WITH CHINA IS DONE, SUBJECT TO FINAL APPROVAL WITH PRESIDENT XI AND ME.
“WE ARE GETTING A TOTAL OF 55% TARIFFS, CHINA IS GETTING 10%. RELATIONSHIP IS EXCELLENT!” he wrote.
Piers has now had his say on the announcement, typing on X, “BREAKING: President @realDonaldTrump says US trade deal with China is done. Huge news…”
One Trump supporter reacted in the comments section saying, “A huge win that was achieved with zero help from the media establishment. President Trump delivered for the American people while the talking heads screamed about ‘trade wars’. He was right, they were wrong. AGAIN.”
Another person moaned in response, “Huge news that inflation has risen by 2.4% is this is a mega tax on consumers! Got to love that Trump cares about 0% for the people who elected him.”
In similar news, CNN reported this week that President Trump’s approval rating on immigration is surging like a “rocket.” CNN’s chief data reporter said a sharp rise in public approval for Trump’s immigration policies has led to his decision to send 2,000 National Guard troops to LA amid violent protests over immigration enforcement.
Data analyst Harry Enten explained that Trump’s net approval rating on immigration has experienced a dramatic shift since his first term. It’s also good news for him, as it has moved from minus 21 per cent in 2017 to one per cent today.
“This is Trump’s net approval rating on immigration,” Enten explained to host John Berman. “It’s gone up like a rocket now versus eight years ago during Trump’s first term.”
“Trump is begging for a fight on this because he knows what he’s doing so far is working with the American electorate,” Enten added. “It’s not just on the broad issue of immigration where Trump is doing well — it’s on the specifics.”
