UK weather maps show much of England and Scotland hit by a deluge of rain, while Wales and Northern Ireland also look set to see some wet conditions. A forecast from WXCHARTS, using Metdesk data, shows almost all of Scotland covered in blue, indicating rain, while areas in both the north and south of England could also see a downpour.
The rain is forecast to arrive at 9pm on Saturday, May 24, according to the maps. The forecast shows the heaviest rain falling in the northwest of Scotland and over the Isle of Skye. As for England, the northeast and southwest regions are set to be drenched.
The south of Wales also flashes red, indicating heavier rain. Meanwhile, only small patches of rain are expected in Northern Ireland.
The rain will clear heading into Sunday morning, according to the weather maps.
The Met Office is also forecasting rain in parts of the UK on Saturday.
Its forecast says: “Rain will gradually clear eastern areas during the morning. Staying cloudy and breezy for most, although some brighter spells may break through at times in the east. Showery outbreaks are possible where the cloud thickens.”
As for this evening, the service adds that rain will “move in from the west” with “heavy bursts” at times.
