Saudi Arabia rolls out mobile McDonalds for Donald Trump during first state visit | World | News

Saudi Arabia has spared no effort in ensuring Donald Trump feels right at home during his visit to the Kingdom. The US President is renowned for his meat-heavy diet of burgers, steaks and meatloaf, as well as his love of ice cream.

To ensure that all his dietary needs are met, the Saudis have rolled out a mobile and operational McDonald’s truck. A photo of McDonald’s-on-wheels was shared on social media channels, and spread like wildfire. According to local reports, the unit was set up near the Saudi Royal Court.

Trump’s love of fast food is well known, with the US President requesting a McDonald’s after he fell ill with COVID-19 in 2020.

During his first term, he also served a buffet of fast-food options when he welcomed national college football champions the Clemson Tigers to the White House in 2019.

During campaigning in last year’s Presidential election, Trump worked the fryer at a McDonald’s in Pennsylvania.

During his shift, he also served motorists at the drive-thru window, greeting customers and telling them he would make the US “better than ever” if elected.

The US President’s fast food diet prompted one of his doctors to try a subtle trick to coax him into healthier foods.

Dr Ronny Jackson admitted to putting cauliflower into the President’s mashed potatoes and trying to hide the ice cream.

The retired navy rear admiral served as the physician to three presidents, but shot to prominence after telling journalists in January 2018 that Trump had “incredibly good genes” and “if he had a healthier diet over the last 20 years, he might live to be 200 years old”.

The US President arrived in the Saudi kingdom on Tuesday on his first international visit since his inauguration in January.

It is the first stop on a busy four-day trip to the Middle East, which will see him visit Qatar and then the United Arab Emirates.

Trump was met at the airport in Riyadh by the kingdom’s de facto ruler, Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman.

The two leaders were set to hold private talks on a wide range of topics, from dismantling Iran’s nuclear program to efforts to end the war in Gaza and to keep oil prices in check.
