UK weather maps indicate that much of the country could be drenched by rainfall later this month, bringing the sunny conditions seen in England, Scotland, and Wales to an abrupt end on May 23. The forecast by WXCHARTS, using Metdesk data, suggests that rain will miss much of the Midlands and parts of the South-west of England while much of the North and parts of the South are covered in blue.

In the South-east of the country, and area spanning from Southampton to Ramsgate is expected to see rain, with the downpour also set to hit as far north as Luton. Further north in England, Yorkshire and Lancashire are the main areas affected by rain, with neighbouring counties also under grey clouds.

All of Wales is forecast to see rain, with all 22 principal areas covered in blue.

The North-east of Scotland is also forecast for rain with an area covering Edinburgh and nearby counties flashing yellow, indicating heavier rain of 3mm/hr. Aberdeen, Inverness and Wick are also among the main areas to see rain, according to the forecast.

Northern Ireland, meanwhile, mostly dodges the rain, with only a small area expecting wet conditions, according to weather maps. Parts of Armagh and Antrim could be affected.
