Man Utd team news: Predicted XI vs West Ham as Amorim makes Fernandes and Onana calls | Football | Sport

Man Utd predicted XI vs West Ham (3-4-3)

Goalkeeper – Onana

Altay Bayindir came in for Andre Onana between both legs against Lyon and Athletic Club and shipped four goals against Newcastle United and Brentford. It’s difficult to see him start again this season.

Defence – Fredricson, Lindelof, Shaw

Amorim will want to manage the minutes of Leny Yoro and Harry Maguire ahead of the final, and both completed the match on Thursday.

Tyler Fredricson is in line for his third senior start, and Victor Lindelof leaving the pitch on 81 minutes in the second leg could hint at a starting role three days later.

Luke Shaw got another half-hour under his belt on Thursday. If Matthijs de Ligt is to miss the final, the Englishman is in contention to start against Spurs and needs more minutes beforehand.

Midfield – Dorgu, Ugarte, Mainoo, Amass

With United’s U21s’ season now over, it would be surprising if one of Jaydan Kamason or Bendito Mantato, if not both, didn’t make their first-team debut before the season ends.

But Patrick Dorgu is more likely to start on the right against West Ham to afford him another opportunity to prepare for the physical challenge of a Premier League opponent in the final.

Harry Amass is set for another start at left-wing-back, with Manuel Ugarte starting in midfield alongside Kobbie Mainoo.

Amorim needs to put Casemiro on ice this weekend, and there is little point in risking Bruno Fernandes from the off.

Attack – Garnacho, Mount, Hojlund

Alejandro Garnacho has started 14 consecutive games, and that should become 15 against West Ham after he came off in the 63rd minute last time out.

Amad made an impact off the bench in Thursday’s 4-1 triumph, and he will increase his workload again later in the match with a view to returning to the team at Chelsea.

Mason Mount enjoyed his best match as a United player as he scored twice against Athletic, days after finding the net at Brentford. Amorim should start him to try and maintain the momentum.

Chido Obi could receive his first Old Trafford start, but Rasmus Hojlund has scored two goals in three games himself, and the Red Devils will need him to be confident in the final.
