Popular food products recalled from Tesco, Asda, Morrisons — full list | UK | News

Recent food recalls have included products feared to contain glass or plastic, or have labels that fail to mention ingredients that could trigger allergies. Customers have been urged to return affected products, and can often do so even without a receipt.

Noticed have been issued by the Food Standards Agency for items sold at stores such as Tesco, Asda and Morrisons. Here’s a full list of products affected in the last two weeks.

Beef lasagne

Giovanni Rana (UK) Ltd recalled La Famiglia Rana Slow-Cooked Braised Beef Lasagne, due to a packaging error. The mistake means some packs may contain Prawn & Lobster Lasagne instead.

It could therefore pose a health risk to anyone with an allergy to crustaceans. Affected 700g packs, sold in supermarkets including Tesco and Morrisons, have the batch code L0B510816 and a best before date of June 17, 2025.

Pita chips

Israeli-British chef Yotam Ottolenghi’s foot company recalled Vadouvan Pita Chips because they contain celery and mustard which are not mentioned on the label.

The 150g packs, which have a batch code of 290525 or 300525, could trigger reactions to people with allergies to celery or mustard.

The “thin and crispy” crisps are sold on Ottolenghi’s website for £6.30. Recalled packs have a best before dates of before dates of May 28, 29 and 30, all in 2025.

Pasta sauce

Organico Realfoods recalled Organic Alla Norma Sauce because the product may contain pieces of glass, making it unsafe to eat.

The 350g jars, sold by Ocado and others, have the batch code 140227 and a best before date of February 14, 2027.

Recalls due to the possible presence of glass are not uncommon. In March, jars of Kelly Loves sushi ginger were similarly recalled “due to a potential risk of glass contamination”.

Chili oil dipping mix

Asian cuisine brand PandaFresh has recalled packets of CuiHong Chili Oil Dipping Mix (also sold as CuiHong Spicy Dip) because it contains peanuts which are not mentioned on the label.

The item could therefore trigger an allergic reaction in people who are allergic to peanuts. The 10g packs have best before dates of August 9, 10 and October 12, 2025.

Chicken breast slices

Asda recalled its Hot and spicy chicken breast slices as a precaution because the product had an incorrect use-by date.

Affected 160g products listed the date May 30, 2025. Customers were urged to return it for a fill refund, with or without the receipt.

Cumberland sausages

Morrisons recalled The Best 6 Thick Cumberland Sausages because the product may contain small pieces of blue plastic. The 400g packs have a best before date of May 1, 2025.

Although plastic is typically used to package food and ready meals, some types contain chemicals that can contaminate food when heated.

They may also present a choking hazard, particularly for small children.
