Next year marks the 25th anniversary of the first Lord of the Rings movie.

To mark the occasion, Royal Albert Hall announced today that Peter Jackson’s Oscar-winning trilogy will be returning for Films in Concert 2026.

Once again, the three Tolkien movies will be projected onto a 40ft screen, accompanied live by Howard Shore’s iconic score, as performed by the London Philharmonic Orchestra.

This is the first time all three Lord of the Rings films have been presented back-to-back with a full orchestra in the UK.

Composer Howard Shore said: “I’m honoured that my scores for The Lord of the Rings films will be performed on Royal Albert Hall’s famous stage once again. This music remains one of the creative high points of my life, and it’s very special to me that it has meant so much to so many people over the last quarter century. The chance to experience the scores for all three films live, and played by the London Philharmonic Orchestra, as on the original soundtrack, will be a truly memorable experience.”
