Meghan Markle accused of sending King Charles ‘coded message’ | Royal | News

The day after Prince Harry’s bombshell interview with the BBC, his wife, Meghan Markle, posted a photo on Instagram, which an expert thinks was taken “as a slight” against King Charles. The black and white candid image showed Prince Harry walking in what is believed to be the garden of their Montecito mansion, with Princess Lilibet on Harry’s shoulders, and Archie walking next to him.

Royal expert Ingrid Seward told The Sun: “I think that it obviously they must have known that would be taken as a slight against Harry’s father, the King, it would be very difficult to think that it wasn’t. I think Meghan was just sending him a message to her father-in-law, or if she wasn’t, it looked like that. It looked like she was saying, ‘look what you’re missing. Here’s your son, and here and here are your two grandchildren that you probably won’t see'”.

The timing of Harry’s interview came as even more of a blow to the royals as it landed just before VE Day celebrations.

The expert further added: “I do wonder if Harry actually had any idea that when he gave that interview that it was going to cast a shadow over the royal celebrations.”

“I shouldn’t think he even thought about that, but if he did. It was very calculated. I think the mood of it was wrong. I think that Harry should never have given that interview. He should have, just gone home and got on with his life.”

Harry’s comments followed the decision of judges at the Court of Appeal to reject his appeal regarding his security levels while in the UK.

After the interview aired on Friday evening, Buckingham Palace released a blunt statement.A spokesperson said: “All of these issues have been examined repeatedly and meticulously by the courts, with the same conclusion reached on each occasion.”

Yesterday evening, the Duke of Sussex arrived in Los Angeles, appearing with The Diana Award for ‘The Knowledge’ event, championing the crucial need for business investment and youth development.

The Prince also took to the stage at the event to launch the new ‘Pledge to Invest’ initiative which aims to celebrate future leaders and help to inspire forward-thinking businesses to support their missions.

At the event, Prince Harry said: “Through The Diana Award, I’ve had the privilege of meeting young people who have turned adversity into action. That’s not just inspiring—it’s the kind of untapped potential we can’t afford to overlook.”

He added: “Far too many young people are locked out of leadership pipelines because we’ve failed to build truly inclusive and accessible pathways.”

Meghan Markle did not accompany her husband on the trip and is believed to have stayed at the couple’s Montecito home with their children, Prince Archie and Princess Lilibet.
