Prince Harry is set to make his second public appearance of the week tomorrow at the 22nd annual Living Legends of Aviation ceremony. The Duke of Sussex, 40, was last seen in public on Wednesday as he stepped out in New York City with his wife Meghan Markle ahead of her talk at the Time100 Summit.
While they attended the event in New York together, Harry is expected to attend Friday’s event at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in LA alone. As reported by People, the prince, who was honored as a Living Legend at last year’s event, will be joined by a number of other famous faces at the ceremony including actor Morgan Freeman.
John Travolta will host the event, which will celebrate the aerial firefighters who helped fight the wildfires that took place in Los Angeles earlier this year.
The ‘Living Legends of Aviation’ title is given to people who have achieved extraordinary accomplishments in aviation.
This includes entrepreneurs, innovators, industry leaders, astronauts, record breakers, pilots who have become celebrities and celebrities who have become pilots.
Prince Harry has already been honoured as a Living Legend previously after having served as a helicopter pilot during his decade in the British Army.
This included two tours of duty in Afghanistan where he served as a forward air controller and an Apache helicopter pilot.
The prince’s LA visit will come just days after his trip to New York with Meghan Markle, where one body language expert said the prince looked like a “spare”, while his wife was the “star” of the show.
Speaking to Express.co.uk, body language expert Judi James said: “Harry appears to be in ‘spare’ mode here, scurrying round like his wife’s security as she sweeps into the venue like the total star.
“The way Harry rushes round the side of the car to join his wife as she is climbing out suggests he sees their arrival as something of a double act. His (Harry’s) expression looks focused and serious as he pulls at the sides of his jacket in a gesture of anxiety. Meghan ignores her husband, though, despite the fact that his hand is raised to touch her.”
Meghan is not expected to attend the event with Harry on Friday.
