In a heartwarming development for royal watchers, Peter Phillips, the eldest grandchild of Queen Elizabeth II, has found new love with Harriet Sperling.
The relationship, which reportedly began earlier this year, has caught the attention and intrigue of royal fans.
After a split from his ex-wife, Autumn Kelly, in 2020, Peter Phillips, who celebrates his 47th birthday today, previously dated Lindsay Wallace for three years, but has now found happiness with Harriet.
Peter and Autumn, who share two daughters, Savannah and Isla, made headlines with their amicable approach to co-parenting after they announced their separation. In May this year, Peter and Harriet made their public debut in May at the Badminton Horse Trials, to cheer on Phillips’ sister Zara Tindall. The couple made their second appearance public at the Beaufort Polo Club in Gloucestershire.
Photos showed the couple holding hands as they mingled with crowds and a source told The Sun: “They looked completely smitten and he was grinning from ear to ear. He looked like the cat that got the cream and acted without a care in the world.”
Harriet is a Paediatric Nurse Specialist for the National Health Service and she also works as a freelance writer. Based in Gloucestershire, Harriet was a single mum to her daughter for ten years. She once wrote of how she and her daughter survived “against the odds”.
Writing in Woman Alive, she penned: “My daughter and I journeyed 10 years with only each other. I liken us to an island and it has often felt hard to imagine anyone joining that island… The unique relationship between a single mother and her child is forged in the fires of struggles and victories”.
Although Harriet has typically avoided the spotlight so far, her association with Peter Phillips has brought her name into the public eye this year.
