“And all you simply need is water, yeast, olive oil, salt, and flour.”

The video has captivated over 63,600 viewers, earning 1,447 likes and sparking 51 comments , reports SurreyLive. One user, Mike, remarked: “Looks very similar to a Glasgow roll…..miss those so much.”

Another enthusiast wrote: “Loving my bread journey! Haven’t bought bread for months!!! Made English muffins this morning, oh wow!!!”

Jorben300 commented, “I made these earlier, thank you so much!! My husband loved them,” and Amanda echoed the sentiment: “I made these bread buns for tea. They worked perfectly and were delicious. Thank you for sharing.”

For thrifty cooks eager to enhance their breadmaking prowess without spending a fortune, here’s what you’ll need for Jo’s cost-effective recipe.

10p Bread Rolls

Ingredients

  • 500g Bread Flour
  • 400ml Warm Water
  • 1 tsp fast action yeast
  • 2 tsp sea salt
  • 1 tbsp olive oil

Method

Combine all of the ingredients using the handle of a wooden spoon. Scraping down the sides of the bowl as you go.

Cover with cling film and rest for 30 minutes. Uncover and using a wet hand, fold the dough over on itself three times.

Recover and set aside for 20 minutes. Repeat the turning a further two times.

Line a baking tray with baking paper and flour. Tip the dough onto the baking tray and flour a little.

Spilt into six or eight portions and roll into balls. Place back onto the tray and cover with another baking tray.

Leave the dough to rest again for at least one hour. Hopefully the dough should have doubled in size again.

Preheat the oven to 220℃ and bake for 20 minutes. Allow to cool completely before tucking in
