Meghan Markle wants to communicate a “bold” and “powerful” message through one of her sartorial choices, a style expert has claimed.

The Duchess of Sussex is known for leaning towards neutral and muted colour hues for her engagements, however, once in a while she likes to opt for pops of colour, with bright red being one of her favourites.

Meghan recently attended a children’s hospital gala in LA and made headlines after she opted for an uncycled Carolina Herrera Gown in a striking red colour. She previously wore it in 2021 with an added overskirt.

Now a stylist claimed that her choice to wear red may carry a deeper meaning.

Kate Jones, stylist at House of Colour told the Mail: “The colour red traditionally represents power, opulence, passion and love. It’s bold and exciting, especially if worn top to toe.

“It tells your audience that you are a confident person who isn’t afraid to be noticed.

“Meghan would also be drawn to the colour because it represents strength and courage, characteristics I believe she is keen to project.”

She added: “Primary red is a colour that suits absolutely every skin tone and yet many people are too shy to wear it.

“Whether Meghan has had her colours analysed or not, she’s probably been advised that it suits her – and she does look fabulous in red; it illuminates her skin, helping it to sparkle and shine.”

Back in 2020, the duchess also wore a bright red dress by Safiyaa during her visit to the Festival of Music.

Meanwhile, Megan Watkins, Head Stylist at SilkFred, previously told Express.co.uk about Meghan’s choice to wear red: “Red is a standout colour on Meghan, and she wears it beautifully because it exudes both strength and warmth, qualities that she embodies.

“The rich, bold hue compliments her radiant complexion and dark hair and is bang on trend for A/W 24.”
