Holland has just arrived on Prime Video and the film is a mystery thriller directed by Mimi Cave. The movie follows a teacher in a small midwestern town who suspects her husband of living a double life.
However, things may be worse than she initially imagined. The idea originally came to light in 2013, with Naomi Watts and Bryan Cranston were attached to star.
Yet by 2015 the plans had been shelved, only to be picked up by Amazon Studios with a new cast and crew. Although the script was originally set in the present day, Mimi Cave shifted the timeline to 2000.
Cave personally connected to the early 2000s, having left the Midwest around 2002, which she said added a layer of authenticity to the story.

Nancy Vandergroot – Nicole Kidman
Leading the cast is Nicole Kidman, a 57-year-old Australian-American actress and producer.
She has consistently ranked among the world’s highest-paid actresses since the late 1990s and it known for her roles in Dead Calm, Moulin Rouge! and Big Little Lies.
Following her high-profile divorce from Tom Cruise, she married country singer Keith Urban in 2006.
The couple’s first daughter, Sunday Rose, was born in 2008 and in 2010, they welcomed their second daughter, Faith Margaret.
Dave Delgado – Gael García Bernal
Dave Delgado is Nancy’s friend and colleague and he is played by Gael García Bernal.
Gael is a 46-year-old Mexican actor, filmmaker and singer who has starred in Bad Education, Babel and Cassandro.
He and fellow actor Diego Luna founded the production company Canana Films in Mexico City.
He has been in a relationship with Mexican journalist Fernanda Aragonés since 2019 and is a father of three.
Fred Vandergroot – Matthew Macfadyen
Fred is Nancy’s husband and he is played by Matthew Macfadyen, a 50-year-old English actor known for his roles in Pride & Prejudice, Spooks and Succession.
In 2002, Macfadyen began a relationship with his Spooks co-star Keeley Hawes and they were married in November 2004.
The couple have two children, who Matthew also being stepfather to his wife’s son from a previous marriage.
Harry Vandergroot – Jude Hill
Harry is Nancy’s son and he is played by Jude Hill, a 14-year-old Northern Irish actor known for his roles in Belfast and A Haunting in Venice.
Hill also played the title role in the World War II-set short film Rian. In 2022 he made his television debut in Magpie Murders.
Candy Deboer – Rachel Sennott
Candy is played by Rachel Sennott, a 29-year-old American actress and comedian.
She began her career on the New York City open mic scene before her breakout role in Shiva Baby.
She co-wrote and starred in Bottoms.
Lennon – Lennon Parham
Lennon Parham is a 49-year-old American actress and improvisational comedian.
She is known for her roles in Best Friends Forever and Playing House, as well as Accidentally on Purpose.
The star is married to Javier Guzman and their daughter Saraya was born in 2013, with their second child was born in 2016.
Shawn Graumann – Isaac Krasner
Isaac Krasner is an American actor who was born in Chicago and spent his early years in New York City.
