Marks & Spencer has issued an urgent recall for three specific baby coats due to potential safety concerns. The high street retailer has identified that these items do not meet the company’s strict safety specifications and is advising customers to return them immediately.
The affected product is the Fisherman baby coat, available in sizes 0-3 months and 3-6 months, which has been on sale since January 9, 2025. Customers who have purchased one of the three variations of this coat are urged to check the product codes to determine if they own a recalled item.
The impacted coats have the following product codes on their packaging:
T78 4045Y
T78 2032Y
T78 4039Y
These baby coats, priced at £24, have been available for purchase both online via M&S.com and in Clothing & Home stores across the UK.
Marks & Spencer has not disclosed the exact nature of the safety concern but is taking precautionary measures by recalling all affected sizes. The retailer has urged parents and guardians to stop using the coats immediately and return them for a full refund.
A spokesperson for M&S said: “We’ve taken the precaution of recalling the above-specified sizes and request you return them to us immediately via our Clothing & Home stores or Customer Services for a full refund.”
Customers who have purchased one of the recalled coats can return them to any M&S Clothing & Home store for a hassle-free refund. Alternatively, those who bought the item online can contact M&S Customer Services for return assistance.
For further inquiries, M&S has set up a dedicated customer service helpline at 0333 014 8555.
M&S has apologised for any inconvenience caused and has assured shoppers that no other baby coats or products are affected by this recall. The company remains committed to providing high-quality and safe products for its customers.
