God of War fans are counting down to the release of the free Dark Odyssey DLC for Ragnarok on PS5.
The God of War Ragnarok Dark Odyssey Collection will be available as a free download for owners of the game on PlayStation and Steam. The Dark Odyssey DLC has a March 20 release date and should be available from around 2pm GMT UK time.
The free DLC contains new skins for Kratos and his companion characters based on the original working title for God of War. It’s the same style that appeared as a reward for completing God of War 2 on God mode.
Sony explains more: “As a gift to everyone who owns God of War Ragnarok, on March 20th we will be releasing an update for all players on PlayStation and PC that includes the Dark Odyssey collection at no additional cost.
“Inspired by the working name of God of War (2005) and the skin that originally appeared in God of War II as a reward for beating the game on God Mode difficulty, we are bringing the classic black and gold theme for the 20th anniversary.
“Once the update is live, you’ll be able access the collection below from any Lost Items chest in the base game or automatically while in Valhalla.”
The Dark Odyssey Collection contains the Dark Odyssey appearance for Kratos, as well as the Dark Odyssey Armour Set, which contains the Dark Odyssey Breastplate, Dark Odyssey Bracers and Dark Odyssey Belt.
You’ll also receive the Dark Odyssey Vestment for Atreus and the Dark Odyssey Witch Frock for Freya, not to mention themed appearances and attachments for the Leviathan Axe, Blades of Chaos and Draupnir Spear.
Dark Odyssey Guardian Shield, Dauntless Shield, Stone Wall Shield, Shatter Start Shield, Onslaught Shield, Spartan Aspis Shield and Rönd.
In addition to the Dark Odyssey Collection, fans will be able to grab Anniversary-themed items for Steam accounts, as well as a free anniversary-themed PlayStation Network Avatar.
As an added bonus, God of War Ragnarok is currently available at a discounted price from the PlayStation Store.
The sequel to the 2018 God of War reboot, Ragnarok can be purchased for £34.99 for a limited time only.
