People armed with swords and machetes shocked eyewitnesses with a terrifying display of broad daylight on Monday, according to firsthand accounts. The chaotic fight broke out in Forest Gate, East London, at around 4:41pm, with passers-by forced to flee and a 17-year-old boy sustaining stab wounds in the altercation.
The teenager escaped to a nearby youth centre, according to UKNIP, before being treated by paramedics and rushed to hospital. The area around Chestnut Avenue and Woodford Road has reportedly been cordoned off, with a large police presence at the scene while forensic investigations continue. Local organisations including schools and youth centres have also been told to “remain vigilant” as enquiries continue, UKNIP said.
