Raducanu’s season was derailed when she sprained ligaments in her foot during her Korea Open quarter-final. She retired from the match and has since pulled out of several tournaments including the WTA 1000 in Beijing.

But the former US Open champion could soon be back in action as Britain take on Germany at next week’s Billie Jean Cup Finals. Raducanu’s camp recently confirmed she was “training well” and that her focus was on being with the team next week.

And she appeared to tease her return with footage from her latest practice session. The 21-year-old shared a video of herself serving on a court at the National Tennis Centre in Roehampton.

She later posted a photo inside the NTC gym. It comes after Raducanu was forced to delay her comeback after pulling out of the recent Hong Kong Tennis Open.

The former world No. 10 had initially been targeting the WTA 250 event to make her return. But, days before the tournament started, she took to social media to announce her withdrawal.

“Hellooo, I’m sorry to say that I will not be able to play in Hong Kong next week. Whilst my foot is making good progress, I need a little more time before I am match fit,” she wrote.

“I hope to be able to come back and play this tournament in the future! In the meantime, I am doing what I can to be ready for BJKC.”

Raducanu was named in Britain’s squad for the BJK Cup finals back in September before she got injured. The team can make up to three changes until the day before the first match, so the 21-year-old can be replaced if she isn’t ready.

But things seem to be going well for the British No. 2, who is expected to fly to Malaga on Monday to begin training with the team.

Raducanu played a pivotal role in helping her nation reach the BJK Cup Finals, beating France’s Caroline Garcia and Diane Parry during their qualifier tie in April.

It was a major upset – the tie was held on French soil on an indoor clay court, not the Brits’ best surface.

Raducanu will be joined by Katie Boulter, Harriet Dart, Heather Watson and Olivia Nicholls. They will face Germany’s team of Tatjana Maria, Jule Niemeier, Laura Siegemund and Eva Lys.
