Debuted at the Barbican in 2022, the enchanted adaptation of Studio Ghibli’s 1988 animated classic received numerous five-star reviews.

Set in 1950s Japan, My Neighbour Totoro follows two girls as they move to the countryside with their father.

In between hospital visits to their sick mother, it’s not long before the kids meet some friendly forest spirits, including the large and cuddly titular character.

Featuring the incredible Kazego Puppeteers, Totoro and his magical friends are kept secret until fans see them manifest on stage in all their whimsical glory.

Following two runs at the Barbican, My Neighbour Totoro has now transferred to the West End this month.

The record-breaking show opened on March 8 and is now running for 34 weeks at the Gillian Lynne Theatre. Featuring Studio Ghibli composer Joe Hisaishi’s iconic score performed live, the Royal Shakespeare Company production runs 2 hours and 30 minutes, including the interval.

Tickets for My Neighbour Totoro start from £25 and can be booked here.
