A woman has been hailed a ‘genius’ after sharing her four-ingredient trick for cleaning stubborn stains on her carpets. TikTok user Chantel Mila, who is known as @mama_mila_ online, has shared her tactic with her 1.5 million followers – with many thanking her for the useful advice.
To start, she says you need to vacuum the area you want to target before applying a homemade cleaning solution to the carpet stains. To make this, she mixes one cup of warm water, 1/4 cup of white vinegar to deodorise and clean the stain, two tablespoons of salt to draw the stains up from the fibers, and four drops of your favourite essential oil to leave the area smelling fresh and clean.
Following this, she simply sprays the solution onto the problem area and blots the stain away using a clean microfiber cloth. She says: “This powerful mix lifts carpet stains and leaves your home smelling fresh.”
Commenting on her video, one thankful viewer said: “Just tried this! Really worked.”

It comes after another TikTok user shared her go-to cleaning hack to leave her oven sparkling without all the scrubbing. The woman, who goes by @we-built-our-home on TikTok, showed off her method for deep cleaning her oven, which she says makes such a “satisfying” difference.
First, she demonstrated what her oven looked like before cleaning it, showing off the burnt food at the bottom and the greasy glass door.
She then recommended followers bake lemon in water for 15 to 20 minutes to steam the oven and loosen the grime before mixing together a “magic cleaning potion” of two cups of warm water, one cup of white vinegar, 1/2 cup washing up liquid, and an optional 1/4 cup bicarbonate of soda. After emptying the oven and allowing it to cool, she applies the solution and lets it work its “magic” for five to 10 minutes.
She advises: “Scrub with all the tools you own and like your life depends on it. More bicarbonate of soda and lemon to get those tough bits of grime off. Scrub the pre-sprayed (with portion) or ideally soaked trays. Looks so good again.”
