Meghan Markle informed the world of her new and upcoming podcast titled ‘Confessions of a Female Founder’ in collaboration with Lemonada Media which officially launches on April 8, but fans are unsure what to make of the topic in question. The audio company states the podcast “invites you to be a fly on the wall as Meghan sits down for candid conversations with female founders and friends about the success, the struggles, and the never-before-told stories of building a business.”
Taking to social media to discuss the upcoming show, one user wrote: “Not interested. It’s probably just going to be another opportunity for her to consistently shift the conversation to herself.” Whereas another stated: “Meghan has always supported and uplifted women. And she continues, to highlight women. Looking forward to this.”
Lemonada Media also informed listeners that the podcast was a chance for people to be “inspired by the real, unfiltered stories and lessons learned from notable female founders”.
Another critical social media user said: “How many failed projects of this woman is it going to take for people to stop investing time and money in this woman. Theres millions of deserving people with talent across the board to give these opportunities to.”
One added: “Being a shameless social climber is not a career nor is she a role model!”
Fans of the Duchess of Sussex, however, have chosen to support her work. One wrote: “Love Princess Meghan. The haters are about to have another meltdown.”
Another fan said: “Love it, Meghan!! Keep shining and living and pouring out all of the gifts that are inside you!”
Meghan wrote on her own social media page about the upcoming project. She detailed: “I’ve been having candid conversations with amazing women who have turned dreams into realities, and scaled small ideas into massively successful businesses.
“They’re opening up, sharing their tips, tricks (and tumbles), and letting me pick their brains as I build out my own business, As ever. It has been absolutely eye-opening, inspiring…and fun! (Because what’s the point if we can’t have some fun on this wild adventure?)”
The launch of the audio podcast comes soon after Meghan announced Netflix was airing a season two of her show ‘With Love, Meghan’ in the autumn.
The eight-part season made it into the top 10 Netflix TV series, but reviews were largely critical of the cooking programme.
Review website, Rotten Tomatoes, gave the show a rating of 28 percent, with one critic writing, “The show simultaneously stains for aspiration and reliability in a way that never gels”. A review in The Guardian described it as a “gormless lifestyle filler” while The Telegraph gave it two stars and branded it “insane” and an “exercise in narcissism”.
Guests in the first series included Hollywood actress and producer Mindy Kaling, celebrity chef Roy Choi, designer Tracy Robbins and cosmetics entrepreneur Victoria Jackson.
It is yet unknown whether the female founders that appear in Meghan’s Netflix show will take centre stage on her new podcast.
