Moscow has been hit by a huge Ukrainian drone attack as officials are due to meet with US representatives in Saudi Arabia for talks today. The city’s Mayor, Sergei Sobyanin, said more than 70 drones targeted the Russian capital and were shot down. This included in the Ramensky and Domodedovo districts. The region’s governor said one person was killed and three more wounded.
Drones damaged seven apartments in a residential building in the Ramensky district, and cars were reportedly set on fire in a car park in the Domodedovo district. Video online proports to show explosions from drones strikes, what seems to be a fire in a high rise building, “upwards of 20 cars” in a car park near Domodedovo airport on fire and vehicles damaged after the repelling of a drone attack in the southeast of Moscow. The Associated Press reports that flights have been restricted in and out of six airports – including Domodedovo, Vnukovo, Sheremetyevo and Zhukovsky, and airports in the Yaroslavl and Nizhny Novgorod regions.
