Donald Trump issues horror warning and says ‘monster’ nukes could be ‘end of world’ | World | News

Donald Trump said the US and Russia possess “monster nukes” that could wipe out life on Earth in a stark message delivered during a TV interview. The US President is pushing ahead at pace with his attempts to seal a peace deal in Ukraine.

In a recent testy and acrimonious exchange at the White House with President Zelensky over peace negotiations with Russia, Trump insisted he wanted to avoid igniting World War 3. Now, Trump has gone on to warn of the dangers of maintaining missile stockpiles that could unleash nuclear Armageddon.

He regretted the huge amounts of American dollars spent on “big monster” nukes that could end the world.

“The greatest is sitting on shelves in various countries called ‘nuclear weapons’ that are big monsters that can blow your heads off for miles and miles and miles,” he told Sunday Morning Futures.

“It’s just bad you have to spend all this money on something that if it’s used, it’s probably the end of the world.”

Russia has over 5,500 nuclear warheads. Currently, the most held by any country in the world.

America is the next biggest with 5,044 nuclear weapons, which are located in the US and five other nations: Turkey, Italy, Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands.

The total warheads owned by these two countries alone account for nearly 90% of all nuclear weapons in the world.

Trump told reporters last week he was hopeful of restarting negotiations with Russia and China over military spending and nuclear arsenals.

“There’s no reason for us to be building brand new nuclear weapons, we already have so many,” he said.

“You could destroy the world 50 times over, 100 times over. And here we are building new nuclear weapons, and they’re building nuclear weapons.

“We’re all spending a lot of money we could be spending on other things actually, hopefully much more productive.”

A single nuclear warhead could kill hundreds of thousands of people, with lasting and devastating humanitarian and environmental consequences.

Detonating just one nuclear weapon alone over New York would cause an estimated 583,160 fatalities.
