A plane flying over the UK sent a distress signal due to a “mechanical failure”.
Flight PGT38X from Istanbul initiated the emergency call as it approached its destination at Manchester Airport. Footage on social media appeared to show Pegasus Airlines aircraft engulfed in smoke upon touchdown.
Startling visuals captured the Airbus A320 with components dangling precipitously, suspected to be its cargo hold doors, as it impacted the runway.
