They’re the kitchen appliance that has taken the UK by storm thanks to the ability to quickly make cheap and tasty food without adding piles of oil and fat.
And now Channel 4 chef Jamie Oliver has shared a fail-safe method to make ‘quick and delicious’ chicken using an air fryer by adding just one extra ingredient.
Sharing a recipe on his YouTube channel, Jamie said the ‘simple and delicious’ recipe is perfect for when you want a quick meal.
If you grab chicken thighs, then dust them with added breadcrumbs, you can make a delicious crispy chicken treat in minutes, Jamie said.
To make it, you’ll need four medium-sized chicken thighs, bone-in, with skin removed, as well as two teaspoons of barbecue seasoning, a handful of fine breadcrumbs, some olive oil, four corn on the cob, and, if you want to add them, some coriander and lime to serve.
First, arrange your chicken thighs on a board or tray in a single layer. Then, dust them with barbecue seasoning (or whatever seasoning takes your fancy) as well as breadcrumbs, taking care to push the crumbs onto the thighs or wings so they stick.
Then arrange the chicken in one single layer of the air fryer and drizzle with oil (or spray with olive oil spray), before cooking at 180C for 20 minutes, being careful to turn them halfway through.
Once the time is up, place a piece of corn on the cob on top and cook at 180C for 10 minutes, or until it’s ‘beautifully golden and cooked through’.
At the end, simply serve with coriander leaves and lime wedges to squeeze over the top.
Jamie said that the recipe had been tested in a 4.2L air fryer, but your actual results may vary depending on your make and model.
